Crying the Tears of Eve
So much sorrow in this world...
Sorrow that has been felt since two sinners were expelled from paradise.
The sorrow we feel as our heart breaks over innocent lives lost, whether taken on the streets or in their mother’s womb, and lives shattered by violence and injustice is an ancient sorrow felt over millennia.
Eve must have been devastated by the news of the death of her son at the hands of his brother. The Bible does not tell us about her sorrow, but as those endowed with a mother’s heart, we can relate to a mother’s loss, and the river of tears that surely accompanies such a loss.
The same God that kept covenant with Eve still reigns over Heaven & earth. He sees our sorrow. He knows our frail broken hearts. He alone binds our wounds and heals our heart (Psalm 147:3). He is mighty and He is righteous; two attributes no human possesses.
But if you seek to be mighty-remain in Christ. (1 Peter 5:6)
If you hunger for righteousness- put on the righteousness of Christ, the King of Glory. (Rom. 3:22)
And like the tears of Eve, our sorrow will be seen by our Faithful Father, who does not only act through Love, but is Love itself. (1 John 4:7-8)
